Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra also known as Svadhisthana Chakra in Sanskrit (sva- self; adhisthana- dwelling place) is the second chakra located in the pelvic area, in the genital region. It plays a part in the testicles or ovaries of the human body and like the quote above consciously has something to do with our desires and passions. It also deals with our creativity along with sexuality.

Element: Water
Color: Orange
Sense: Taste
Massage: Thighs, booty, pelvis
Sound/Mantra: Vang (va- power of Varuna, the diety of water and ocean; ng- mind- sound moves the energy upward) when chanted together, they bring up the energy and you can feel your brain vibrate. It can also be said as VAM. Regardless, they will sound the same because of the noise we make when saying M or NG (ends up sounding like a hum).

Foods:
Foods rich in Omega-3s, such as salmon, also work well to balance this chakra. Nuts and seeds such as flax, almonds, walnuts, and sesame provide additional fatty Omega-3s, which aid in cardiovascular health and reduce inflammation. Also stock up on coconut and spices such as cinnamon. Since this chakra’s element is water, stay hydrated and drink plenty of water, coconut water, or herbal teas.
Orange fruits and vegetables are great for balancing the sacral chakra. So carrots, mango, oranges, orange peppers, peaches, apricots, and sweet potatoes.
Essential Oils:
Ylang Ylang, Clary Sage, Jasmine, Neroli, Geranium, Sandalwood, and Rose.
Crystals:
Amber, Citrine, Carnelian, Sunstone, Tigers eye, Calcite.

Balanced Sacral:
You are in control of your feelings, enjoy life, maintaining positive relationships, and can be your true self. You are creative and original. You have a willingness to build harmonious relationships. You are compassionate, merciful, and kind. You are sensual and notice how attractive you truly are. Inside and out.
Imbalanced Solar Plexus:
If you are fearful in engaging with others, give up on your own desires in order to please others, seek validation outside of yourself, lack purpose and are jealous, possessive, or envious, then your sacral chakra is not balanced properly.
Understanding the sacral chakra helps us understand our emotional truths and sexual desires.
